Ballet
Barbara Evans began her dance training at National Ballet of Canada and studied at School of American Ballet and ABT in New York while pursuing a musical theatre and modeling career. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Dance.
Barbara appeared in the Off Broadway production of "Stepping High". She has taught dance for 54 years in North Carolina and New York. Over the years, her students have performed in New York at Lincoln Center and the Mark Goodson Theatre, Walt Disney World in Orlando, and in Moscow, Russia, Florence, Italy and Lucerne, Switzerland. She has also choreographed and performed in over 40 musical productions at the
Fort Bragg Playhouse, Cape Fear Regional Theatre, and Fayetteville Little Theatre.
Barbara implemented and taught the Creative Movement Program at PLAYSPACE Children's Museum for six years and at Marbles Kids' Museum. She taught Creative Movement in Governor Easley's More at Four Program at Childcare Network. She has taught Advanced Ballet and Tap at Dance EFX/Lillington since 2008.
Ms. Barbara is very excited to be working with ballet students at North Carolina Dance Institute, and we are excited to have her.
