Charles Machalicky is a 20-year veteran specializing in theater performance, direction, and production. He has staged, written, directed, and performed in productions across the US - most notably adapting Truman Capote's A Christmas Memory for stage and receiving a Dramalogue award for his performance as Cornelius Hackl in the Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera production of Hello, Dolly!. Charles received a BA in Speech Communication/Theater from Duquesne University. He has trained with Arthur Duncan, Chance Taylor and many other skilled choreographers in the business.

Noteworthy performance credits include: Eddie Ryan in Funny Girl, Cliff Bradshaw in Cabaret, Fyedka in Fiddler on the Roof with Theodore Bikel, Curly in Oklahoma!, and Phileas Fogg in a national touring production of Around the World in 80 Days.

Charles leads a great tap class with emphasis on musicality and clarity of rhythms. He teaches beginner to advanced level tap classes. Charles is very happy to bring his wide range of dance and performance experience to the students at NCDI, and we are happy to have him join our staff.
