Chasta Hamilton
Creative Movement, PreDance

A native of Tennessee, Chasta relocated to North Carolina as a full scholarship student at North Carolina State University. Her dance training included tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary styles, and hip-hop, which were expanded upon by attending regional conventions and competitions across the east coast. Chasta has spent her summers studying in Atlanta, GA, Los Angeles, CA, and New York City, NY. Chasta has studied with So You Think You Can Dance choreographers, Tyce Diorio and Mia Michaels, and Gregg Russell, Bob Rizzo, Eddie Garcia, Mike Minery, Sheila Barker, and Doug Caldwell.

Chasta’s performance experience ranges from local stages in Tennessee and North Carolina to Disney World and the Lord of Mayor’s Day Parade in London, England. More recently, as a choreographer and instructor, her pieces have ranged from contemporary to hip-hop, and she has worked with dance students of all ages. Chasta choreographed A Chorus Line for Shaw University Theatre Department.

As Chasta begins her senior year as an Arts Applications—Theatre major at NCSU, she looks forward to bringing her energy, excitement, and love of dance to NCDI!
