Janey Abbott graduated from University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she studied under the late Melissa Hayden for many years. During her time at school she danced multiple featured roles within the George Balanchine repertoire including Four Temperments, Allegro Brilliante, and Scotch Symphony.

Ms. Abbott danced professionally for two seasons with the Milwaukee Ballet in both MBII and the corps de ballet and enjoyed feature roles in both Michael Pink's Romeo and Juliet and Lila York's Celts.

Janey is originally from Winston-Salem, NC. She moved back to NC after five years in New York City having graduated on scholarship from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. While in NYC she also worked in the theatre business as a junior agent for Stewart Talent.

Janey is looking forward to getting back into the studios at NC Dance Institute and reconnecting with the dance community!
