Kathleen Black
Guest Teacher - Ballet

Kathleen Black began performing with Carolina Ballet as a child in The Nutcracker, Coppelia, Cinderella, George Balanchine's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Robert Weiss' world premiere of Beethoven: Symphony No. 9. Before joining Carolina Ballet, she trained at Infinity Ballet under Debra Senchak and The Raleigh School of Ballet.

Kathleen trained at American Ballet Theatre, The Harid Conservatory, on scholarship at Boston Ballet, and at the School of American Ballet. While at SAB, she was chosen to perform in the New York Choreographic Institute under the direction of NYCB's Peter Walker.

Kathleen performed in Ira David Wood III's Theatre in the Park's A Christmas Carol, dancing the featured ballet role. She toured with the show to Compiègne, France. Kathleen was a competitive Scottish Highland dancer, having won both the National and North American Championships.

NCDI is thrilled to have Kathleen, a company dancer with Carolina Ballet, guest teaching and inspiring our own students.
