Tom Terry
Classical Ballet
Tom Terry received his classical ballet training at Washington School of Ballet in DC and The Joffrey School in New York City. He performed professionally with The Joffrey Ballet, Feld Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre under the direction of Mikhail Baryshnikov. He has danced solo roles in Baryshnikov's The Nutcracker and Don Quixote, as well as many other classics.
Tom has worked with such iconic choreographers as Agnes de Mille (Rodeo, The Informer), Anthony Tudor (Pillar of Fire), and George Balanchine (Theme and Variations, Ballet Imperial, Bouree Fantasque). He toured nationally in Oklahoma and On Your Toes with Dina Merrill and Natalia Makarova. On Broadway, Tom performed solo roles in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera. He has taught numerous master classes at Ellicot City Ballet in Maryland and for Joffrey II Dancers.
Tom participated in the comprehensive American Ballet Theatre Dance Educator training seminars, featuring a National Training Curriculum that focuses on the health of the dancer as they progress in their training objectives. Tom will be teaching intermediate and advanced levels of ballet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Come ready for a challenge and a great class!!
